Social media should help people connect, learn, and share ideas, not manipulate attention, amplify toxicity, or turn users into products. From day one, our goal has been simple: build a social media platform that puts people, learning, and healthy discussion first. This article explains how we’re building the platform, the principles behind it, and why we’ve made some very intentional technical and ethical choices along the way.
Hosted and Managed in Europe
Our platform is hosted and managed entirely in Europe, using European-owned infrastructure.
That choice isn’t just about geography, it’s about values.
Hosting in Europe means:
Strong data protection standards
Clear legal frameworks
No dependency on opaque overseas cloud monopolies
Greater control over privacy, security, and long-term sustainability
Your data stays under European jurisdiction, and the platform is operated according to European laws and expectations, not vague promises buried in terms of service.
More Than Social Media: Create, Share, Teach, Learn
Traditional social media platforms are built for scrolling, reacting, and consuming.
Ours is built for creation and learning.
Alongside familiar social features, we’re developing content creation tools specifically designed for education and knowledge sharing. The idea is simple:
Create. Share. Teach. Learn.
Whether you’re explaining a concept, building a course-like thread, or sharing structured knowledge with a community, the platform is designed to support meaningful content and not just viral fragments.
Learning isn’t a side feature here. It’s part of the foundation.
AI-Supported Hate Speech and Content Moderation
Open discussion only works when people feel safe to participate.
That’s why we’re building powerful AI-supported systems to prevent hate speech and unwanted content before it dominates conversations. The goal isn’t censorship, it’s quality.
Our moderation approach focuses on:
Detecting hate speech and harassment early
Reducing toxic behavior without silencing good-faith discussion
Supporting fair, consistent moderation at scale
Creating spaces where disagreement doesn’t turn into abuse
EU AI Act compliant
AI helps us do this faster and more consistently, while human oversight ensures nuance and fairness. The result: safer, healthier discussions without turning the platform into a hostile or sterile environment.
No Ads. No Manipulative Algorithms.
We’ve made a clear decision:
No advertising.
That also means:
No tracking users to sell attention
No engagement-maximizing algorithms designed to provoke outrage
No dark patterns nudging people to stay longer than they want to
Most social platforms optimize for one thing: keeping you scrolling so ads can be shown. That incentive quietly shapes everything — from timelines to notifications to content ranking.
We’re building something different.
By removing ads and toxic engagement algorithms, we’re free to focus on:
Meaningful interactions
Chronological or transparent content ordering
User choice instead of behavioral manipulation
You are not the product here.
Open Source at the Core. With Honest Limits.
Our platform is built on open source systems, and the core of the platform itself is open source. This gives us:
Transparency at the architectural level
Community trust and auditability
Long-term independence from proprietary lock-in
That said, we believe honesty matters.
While the core is open source, some configurations and operational components are not publicly shared. This means the platform isn’t fully transparent in every detai, and we don’t pretend otherwise.
We choose this balance deliberately:
Open where openness brings trust and resilience
Closed where security, abuse prevention, or operational integrity requires it
Transparency isn’t a marketing slogan for us, it’s a practical, thoughtful decision.
Open Source Video Conferencing (Planned)
Looking ahead, we’re also planning to integrate open source video conferencing tools into the platform.
The vision is to support:
Live learning sessions
Community discussions
Small group collaboration
Events without relying on proprietary, data-harvesting video platforms
As with everything else we build, this will prioritize privacy, control, and openness over convenience shortcuts.
Building for the Long Term
We’re not trying to “disrupt” social media with gimmicks. We’re building something slower, sturdier, and more intentional.
A platform that:
Respects users
Encourages learning
Reduces toxicity instead of amplifying it
Operates transparently and responsibly
Exists to serve people — not advertisers
This is social media designed for the long term. And we’re just getting started.
